President’s Report – February 2009
Well I hope everyone is staying warm and well these winter months. The January meeting was a huge success with a large turn out and several new members attended. So welcome aboard. Once again we’ll plan on having the Club meeting like we did last year, where once a quarter we’ll meet at the BlueGrass Dealership and the other months at a restaurant of choice.
One key issue came up during January’s meeting. We have noted the KY-PCA By-Laws were approved some time ago, but they just weren’t published. We’ll get that done and once we have our new WEBSITE up and running it will be posted there too. There has been progress on our website, with hopes of it being ready in mid February, if not sooner. Our website will be a user friendly sight, with Blogs and Forums, plus space to post pictures and a classified section for club members.
We’ve talked about putting together a calendar of events. It looks like the March issue will have this information. We’re looking at some nice drives, two DE’s, some car shows, and some events with other clubs, so start planning your calendar now. At this point we have just completed our first Wine Tasting which was a really fun night. Unfortunately it was limited to a much smaller number than I had expected, due to the size and capacity of the restaurant’s meeting room. But we’ll be doing another one before the year is over.
An important note from our historical records (and from those who have been here for a long time) that 2009 is our 50th anniversary. I’m doing some additional investigation with National and if it is we have some celebrating to do. More on this soon. I’m sorry for bouncing around so much and you can tell we have a lot of ideas that need to be put into plans. And we need volunteers to make these things happen. Remember this is our Club and we make things happen or not. Please step up and take an event on – it not difficult and I assure you it will be fun. That’s all for now. February 9th’s Club meeting is at El Tarasco Mexican Restaurant.
See ya then……. Steve McCombs President
