President’s Report – February 2010

Well Everyone,

We had another successful and fun meeting in February. On that snowy evening
we had 15 members who braved the cold and winter storm warning to come out and enjoy the
get-together. The club funded a round of refreshments to make things more enjoyable…

As I stated in last month’s “Presidential Gems”, we’re doing something different with the monthly
membership meeting. My hope as this year’s president is to make these meetings fun, interesting
and something that everyone would look forward to attending (a true gathering or get-together).

The March meeting will be at the BlueGrass dealership. We will have a brief meeting, but the center
of the evening will be a social gathering. The plan is to do our own version of the “Evolution of Porsche
Cars” from the 356 to the Carrera GT using our club members’ cars. We’ll be able to look at
some of these cars both on the ground and on a lift, hear about them and physically see the difference
between them. Of course this is all weather permitting, because I’m sure some of us would not
want to take the cars out in the salt and snow. March can be questionable. But if that doesn’t work,
we’ll do a detailing session to get ready for Spring…. Either way this will be a very different membership
meeting. I strongly encourage the ladies of the club, both wives and girlfriends, to come and
enjoy the evening. It should be interesting and hopefully fun. The club will supply the pizza and adult
refreshments.

We are still in need of a person or persons to work on activities. As you can see there isn’t a calendar
of events put together for this year. The only events so far are the two Driver’s Educations which
are set for June 20,21,22 and Oct 24,25,26 and the Huber event in mid-October. That leaves the
entire Spring and Summer open for planning. As we all know, this is our club and you can make it
what you want it to be…To plan something takes little effort. I’d really like to see some of the new
members step up and take on an event/drive/lunch. New people and new ideas are key to moving
this club forward. We have a membership of over 300. Surely there are some of you that want to do
something fun with a group… Please let us know.

See you March 10th,

Steve McCombs
