On occasion the question of "How do I receive notifications from the forums via email" comes up. Unlike the Yahoo Groups, the KYPCA forums does not send an email for every single posting by default. In short, you need to "tell" the KYPCA forums what you would like to be notified about based on the forum section or topic.

So let's cover some basics first. The KYPCA forums are divided into various sub forums (Fig. 1) in order to keep similar topics organized. Within each subforum there are various topics (Fig. 2) of a similar nature originated by forum members. The forums are setup to allow you to receive notification at both of these levels. In other words, you can receive email notifications for any new topics posted to a forum section, or notification for any comments posted to a particular topic.

Let's say you're interested in following the forum section on car care entitled "Make It Shine". Access that section of the forums by clicking on the section title. Scroll to the bottom of the page and on the left you will see a link (Fig. 3) entitled "Subscribe Forum". When you click this link the forums will "subscribe" you to that particular section.  So from that point forward you will receive an email notification for any and all new topics posted to that forum section.

Maybe you're interested in following a particular topic? The process is essentially the same to subscribe to a topic. Select the topic you're interested in following and scroll to the bottom of the page. On the left you will see a link (Fig. 4) entitled  "Subscribe Topic". After clicking this link you will receive notification via email for any new comments posted to this particular topic.

Now that you know how to subscribe, what if you want to unsubscribe? You can manage any forum or topic subscriptions via the User Control Panel. The User Control Panel is located under the User Menu on the right side (Fig. 5) of the page, and this area appears no matter where you are in the forums. Within the Control Panel you will see a "Manage Subscriptions" link (Fig. 6) on the left. Once you access your subscriptions you can select which items you want to unsubscribe from by clicking the check box on the right and then click the "unwatch marked" button (Fig. 7) on the lower right.

That pretty much covers eveything there is when it comes to subscribing and unsubscribing to topic and forums.  Please remember, there is also a forum FAQ located on the right side of the page under User Menu that covers several other informational items related to the forums and how to use them. Lastly, you can always post in the forum section entitled "Forum Help" and one of your fellow forum members should come to the rescue.
