Bleekemolen secures first win of the season

Stuttgart. The reigning champion of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup continues on his success streak in 2009. At the first race of the year, Jeroen Bleekemolen (Netherlands) crossed the finish line first after twelve laps, more than 9.7 seconds ahead of his compatriot Patrick Huisman driving for SPS Performance. Third place went to newcomer Matt Halliday from New Zealand competing for the Federsand-Jetstream Motorsport team.

Two times pole position for reigning champion

Stuttgart. During the qualifying session for round one of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup in Bahrain, Jeroen Bleekemolen (Netherlands) posted the top time in just his third timed lap. And with his second quickest qualifying time, which determines the starting place for race two on Sunday, the 27-year-old reigning champion snatched position one. With this, the Konrad Motorsport pilot has the best chances to bring home maximum points from both races of the season-opener and again assert himself at the top of the points’ table.

Smaller grid, stronger line up and a special new award

Stuttgart. With two reigning and two former champions, the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup kicks off its 17th season on 25th April. Two races are scheduled at the season-opening round on the 5.4 kilometre Grand Prix circuit of Bahrain. At the two 12-lap sprints, a total of 17 drivers fight for the first victory of 2009 as support to the Formula 1 Grand Prix in the desert kingdom.

Porsche one-make series 2009

Delivery of the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup has begun

Stuttgart. The wait for the green light to Porsche’s one-make series will soon be over: Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, begins delivering the new 911 GT3 Cup to the teams of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup and the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. For the 2009 season, the 420 hp racing sports cars underwent modifications to details, including a new air ducting to optimise the interior ventilation. Like last season, in the international Supercup the vehicles are fitted exclusively with the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake PCCB.
