Le Mans Series, round 2 in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium

Top times for RS Spyder and 911 GT3 RSR

Stuttgart. Porsche teams have made their mark at the second round of the Le Mans Series. At his first race of the season, Casper Elgaard (Denmark) turned the fastest qualifying time with the Porsche RS Spyder sports prototype, half a second ahead of the second qualifier on the 7.004 kilometre circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. In the production-based GT2 class a one-two was achieved in qualifying. Season-opening winner Marc Lieb (Germany) qualified his 911 GT3 RSR on pole, with his Porsche works driver colleague Patrick Pilet (France) rounding off the top performance with second. The 1,000 kilometre race on the legendary circuit in the Ardennes gets underway tomorrow with a total of 51 competitors at 12.50 pm and is contested over 143 laps or a maximum of six hours.

Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, round 3 at the Spanish Grand Prix

Jeroen Bleekemolen back in Europe as front-runner

Stuttgart. After the season-opener in Bahrain, the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup returns to Europe with Formula 1. Led by Jeroen Bleekemolen (Netherlands), the pilots of the international one-make race series put the throttle to the floor on the 4.6 kilometre Circuit de Catalunya not far from Barcelona on Sunday. Competing for Konrad Motorsport, the 27-year-old title defender gave a brilliant performance at the first two races of the season, securing pole position and victory from both rounds. Holding 44 points in the championship he heads a strong group of pursuers.

Grand-Am Series, round 3 in Millville, USA

Porsche pilots extend overall lead

Stuttgart. With Penske Racing’s Porsche Riley, Timo Bernhard (Germany) and Romain Dumas (France) secured their first podium result at round three of the Grand-Am season. At New Jersey Motorsports Park, they finished third in torrential rain. In the production-based GT class Porsche celebrated a phenomenal quadruple success with Dirk Werner (Germany) and Leh Keen (USA) taking victory with their 911 GT3 Cup.

First race of the new season for the Porsche RS Spyder

Stuttgart. Round two of the Le Mans Series promises to be thrilling in many aspects. Firstly, in Spa-Francorchamps this year for the first time, the LMP2 multiple winner of last season lines up on the grid – the Porsche RS Spyder. Moreover, Porsche works drivers Marc Lieb (Germany) and Richard Lietz (Austria), who won the GT2 class at the season-opener in Barcelona with their Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, are eager to secure their second win and increase their lead in the championship. And finally, the 7.004 kilometre circuit itself is an adrenalin rush for drivers and fans: The 1,000 kilometre races on the time-honoured track in the Ardennes are legendary.

Grand-Am Series, round 3 in Millville, USA

Porsche keen to defend championship lead

Stuttgart. It’s back-to-back in the Grand-Am Series: Just one week after the race in Alton, where Porsche pilots David Donohue (USA) and Darren Law (USA) took the championship lead with their Porsche Riley, round three in the New Jersey Motorsports Park is now on the calendar. Lining up to start are Porsche works drivers Timo Bernhard (Germany) and Romain Dumas (France). After the season-opening 24 Hours at Daytona, changes to the regulations handicapped the Porsche Riley which now starts with more weight and without a sixth gear.
